Instacart Home Delivery with Sam's Club

 

Sam's Club is partnering with Instacart to offer same-day delivery of Groceries and Everyday Essentials.

By March 2019, all Sam's Club locations (except in Puerto Rico) will offer Instacart delivery services. Just visit SamsClub.com/instacart to fill your virtual cart with all your favorite items—from produce, meat, and frozen foods to everyday essentials including exclusive, premium-quality Member's Mark products and small appliances—and have them delivered straight to their doorstep by Instacart, in as little as an hour.

 

Instacart customers will have the option to shop local Sam's Clubs without a membership, giving them access to Sam's Club's signature savings and bulk shopping options, paired with the convenience of same-day delivery. Sam's Club Members will simply save their membership number in the loyalty card section to receive membership rewards (Sam's Club Master Card, 1% cash back) and lower, member-only pricing on items.

What is Instacart?

Instacart is a same-day grocery delivery service that delivers in as little as an hour. Instacart connects customers with a network of Shoppers in your area who pick up and deliver your groceries from your local Sam's Club straight to your doorstep.

How does the new service work?

Starting 02/27/2018, customers can visit SamsClub.com/instacart or download the Instacart app, pick from a local Sam's Club online inventory of groceries and everyday essentials, and choose a delivery window that works best for your needs—in as little as one hour, or for those who plan in advance, up to five days in advance. Instacart's shoppers do the rest, personally shopping and delivering the order to your doorstep.

NOTE:  It may take up to 48-hours for a new Membership to complete a Sam's Club order with Instacart. Our systems must sync and recognize your new information.

 


 

Do you have to be a Sam's Club Member to get Instacart delivery?

No, customers are not required to have a Sam's Club membership to get same-day delivery from their local club.

 


 

Are there perks for Sam's Club Members who use Instacart for delivery?

Yes. Members who enter their membership number when ordering via Instacart will pay lower prices than non-members. We do not offer Sam's Cash when shopping through Instacart, but purchases made with a Sam's Club Mastercard will accrue 1% cash back, see terms.

NOTE:  Instant Savings are not available with Instacart orders.

 


 

Will the prices be different for delivery versus in-club?

Online prices will be higher than in-club, reflecting the convenience of delivery and industry norms. Sam's Club Members who enter their membership number at checkout will pay lower prices than non-members.

All grocery and everyday essential items will be available for same-day Instacart delivery.

Is there a minimum order value for delivery?

Delivery is available for orders of $10 or more.

 


 

Is there a fee for this service?

Yes. Customers pay a delivery fee (see below).

  • $8.99 on orders $35 or more

  • $12.99 on orders under $35

  • $10.99 for one hour delivery on orders $35 or more

  • $14.99 for one hour delivery on orders under $35

  • $0 delivery fee for Instacart Express members

— Many customers also take advantage of big savings over time with an Instacart Express membership that enables unlimited, free same-day delivery on all orders of $35 or more. After a free trial period, Instacart Express membership is $149 a year or $14.99 a month.

 


 

I've heard that Instacart charges a service fee. What is that?

The service fee helps Instacart operate and provide customers with the best service possible. The use of a Service Fee varies by market and may be used for:

  • Guaranteed wages for Shoppers

  • Customer support

  • Operational expenses

  • Tips however, go directly to the Shopper who completes the order delivery.

 


 

What are the Instacart delivery hours?

Instacart delivery hours are as follows:

  • Monday—Saturday: 9:00 AM - 8:00 PM

  • Sunday: 11:00 AM - 6:00 PM

— On holidays, Instacart's delivery hours are subject to club holiday hours. View available delivery times for your area at checkout and from the shopping cart during check out.

 


What is busy pricing?

Busy Pricing is a fee that applies to delivery times that are in high demand. By charging more for delivery during these times, customers can depend on our service being available when they need it while having the option of choosing a lower priced delivery slot as well. The delivery fee is displayed clearly during the checkout process. Delivery fees that include Busy Pricing are noted.

Do I need to save a credit card on my account to place an order?

You can browse the site without adding a credit card. When the order is ready to be placed, you will be asked for a credit card to secure payment. After the order has been processed, you have the option to delete your credit card without affecting completed orders by navigating to Payment within your profile.

 


 

Which payment methods are accepted?

Instacart accepts all major credit and debit cards, Android Pay and Apple Pay. Customers are unable to use prepaid credit cards, store gift cards, and other forms of payment not listed as accepted above.

 


 

Are customers able/expected to tip Instacart shoppers?

Tips are not required, but are encouraged to show gratitude to Instacart shoppers for a job well done.

 


 

Do Instacart shoppers consider the expiration date on my groceries?

Instacart shoppers look for the freshest possible groceries when shopping for you. They each complete in-app tutorials before their first shift for guidance on how to choose the best products and produce when shopping for you.

 


 

If items are out of stock, can substitutions be made?

When placing orders, you can designate replacement items. In the event that an item is out of stock and you have not specified a replacement, an Instacart shopper will choose a suitable replacement and contact you before checking out to see if you approve the replacement item. If you do not receive a replacement, you will be refunded for the out of stock item.

 


 

What happens if I am not home when my order arrives?

Instacart allows customers/Members to indicate their delivery preferences when checking out. You will receive a text message when the Instacart Shopper is on the way, alerting as to the estimated time of arrival. If you are not there to receive the delivery, the Instacart Personal Shopper will try to contact you.

Instacart will leave orders with a doorman, front desk person, etc. Instacart is also happy to follow instructions to leave orders on a front/back porch or at another location; however, Instacart is not responsible for your order if requested to do so.

Who do I call if I have an issue with my order?

Instacart's goal is to get our Member's order right every time. However, if something goes wrong there are three ways to report an issue with an order:

  1. By accessing your receipt: At the bottom of the receipt received via email, there is the Report a Problem button. Click this button and move through the flow to let us know where we went wrong, and how we can make it right!

  2. On the Instacart website: When logged in to the Instacart website click Account in the top right corner, choose Your Orders, find the order in question and click the Report a Problem button.

  3. On the Instacart smartphone app: Open the Menu in the upper left corner, choose Your Orders, find the order in question and tap the Report a Problem button.

— Additionally, Instacart's Community Support team is available 24/7 by phone or email.

 


 

What products are available for delivery with Instacart?

You will be able to order all grocery and everyday essential items available in-club including frozen items, produce, meat, seafood and prepared foods. The below items are not available through Instacart at this time.

  • Alcohol

  • Tobacco

  • Pharmacy prescriptions

  • OTC drugs / products where ID is required

  • Catering

  • Special order products (e.g. custom cakes, jewelry, tires)

  • Gift Cards


 


 

Can coupons be applied to my order?

Instacart's pricing model does not support in-store sales and coupons. There are however, sales and promotions that are available on Instacart that may not be available in-club.

 


 

Why can't I find a specific item online that is available in-club?

We aim to provide delivery customers with the largest assortment of items available, but select items may not be available for purchase online. See exclusions

What if I have a customer service issue or need to return something?

After each order is delivered, you are prompted to leave feedback using a star rating and a free form comment field. Instacart's Customer Happiness team reviews the feedback and reaches out to customers for follow-up. Additionally, you can reach out to help@instacart.com to report order issues. Instacart will do what they can to make it right for you.

NOTE:  You also can use Instacart's self-service customer tool to help correct the most common concerns.

 


 

Can I make a change to my Instacart order after I've placed it?

If the Instacart Shopper has not started fulfilling the order, you can add to, modify or cancel the order. Find these options on the Order Status page from the Instacart site.

 


 

What if I want to cancel my Instacart order?

You can cancel an Instacart order for a full refund up until the Instacart Shopper has started shopping for the order.

 


 

What if I have to reschedule or cancel my Instacart order after it is already on the way to my home?

You must cancel an Instacart order during the shopping or delivery process. You will be issued a refund and may be subject to a $15 cancellation fee.

 


 

When will I receive my refund for a cancelled Instacart order?

Refunds may take up to seven business days to process. In some cases, your financial institution may adjust the original charge amount instead of displaying a separate refund.

 


 

How do I review my Instacart receipt?

You can view receipts in two ways:

  • After delivery via text or email. Once an order has been delivered, you will receive an email and text notification with a link to your receipt, where you can rate the order, tip the Instacart Shopper and leave feedback.

  • Review receipts from your account. When logged into your Instacart account, hover over your name in the upper right-hand corner and a menu will appear. Select Order History, then choose a basket from your past orders on the left. Here, you can also find the option to view the receipt.
